County Athletics Champion!

On Wednesday 24^th May, two year nine students from Queen Elizabeth’s Grammar School competed in the county combined athletics event in Boston.

Chloe Fields and Zoe Butterfield both competed in the under 15s pentathlon, which consisted of the following events: 75m hurdles, shot put, high jump, 800m and long jump.

In total, there was 44 competitors taking part in this event. This was Zoe’s first experience of such an event and did incredibly well finishing in 26^th place, scoring 1228 points.

Chloe is a member of an athletics club and has been training for many years now and regularly competes in similar events. Her training paid off as she finished in first place, with an impressive score of 2106 points, 46 points ahead of second place.

This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection on her talent and the hard work she puts into this sport.

Chloe has now qualified for the regional combined events with take place in Boston on the weekend of 24^th and 25^th June. We wish her all the best. Well done girls!
