Banovallum School Secures Sustainability Sponsorship

Banovallum School in has received a generous donation of 1,000 reusable water bottles thanks to its ongoing effort to promote and improve sustainability.

The school is working hard to increase awareness of the need to recycle wherever possible as part of its ongoing objective to improve sustainability.

We have installed contactless water coolers across both of our secondary schools to encourage students to refill their own water bottles.

As of September 2023, Banovallum also stopped the sale of bottled water in a bid to reduce single-use plastic bottles.

Water, energy and waste management company Veolia kindly agreed to sponsor Banovallum School with its sustainability objectives and generously funded 1,000 reusable water bottles – one for every student.

The donated water bottles are made from recyclable materials and were designed and created by School Bears, a school merchandise company.

Kelly Beard, our Catering Manager, helped organise the sponsorship.

“Our goal is to reduce waste across the Trust and encourage sustainability,” explained Kelly.

“The students are the future, and it is important that they understand why we are doing this and how they can contribute and care for the environment.”

Sandra James, our CEO, said: “We are working hard to improve sustainability across all the schools in the trust and raise the awareness of the benefits of reusing and recycling among our students.

“We are very grateful to Veolia for its generous sponsorship and are sure this will be really beneficial in reducing single-use plastics across the school.”
